Please come to LCC's 50th party! Photo by Carolyn Bates.

Join the Lake Champlain Committee in celebrating our first half century as an organization and envisioning the lake's future at our 50th anniversary gathering! We'll reflect on 50 years of lake protection work, honor special volunteers, and look ahead. The afternoon gathering will include delicious refreshments, a brief business meeting, a look back by one of our founding members, a look forward, awards, and ample time for conversation in a beautiful lakeside setting. We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer and other refreshments from local purveyors. Help us celebrate this special anniversary at a unique Adirondack Great Camp overlooking the lake!

Please RSVP by 9/9/13 to be entered into special drawings for door prizes including gourmet chocolates and brownies, Champlain Valley wine, a wine tasting, a year of great bread, lake books, bags, a natural history outing with staff scientist Mike Winslow, a lakeside picnic with executive director Lori Fisher, and more!

Register online or contact office manager Jessica Rossi at 802-658-1414.

The Lake Champlain Committee meeting is free and open to LCC members, friends, and partners. Donations towards our next 50 years are appreciated.

About Flat Rock Camp

LCC will be gathering at this historic Adirondack Great Camp on 9/14/13. Photo courtesy of The Nature Conservancy.

Built in the 1890’s, Flat Rock Camp is the eastern-most Adirondack Great Camp and the only camp of its character on Lake Champlain. Named for the extensive outcropping of Potsdam sandstone that was smoothed by glacial action, the site abounds with glacial striations and erratics and unique flora. Sincere thanks to Peter and Patty Paine for their generosity  in hosting the Lake Champlain Committee’s 50th anniversary meeting!
